Best Exercises Ever

By the time you finish reading this section of my site, you will know how to get boot-camp fitness results without going to a long boot-camp workout.

All because you will have learned a form of exercise which is more effective at burning fat and building muscles, and which can be done in a shorter amount of time.

The type of exercise I am referring to is nothing new.  It is not something I came up.  In fact, it is similar to training that has been taught to the United States’ most advanced military forces.  Many of these exercises, as well as many others, can be found in the book, You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises, which you can see in the column on the right.  Complete with demonstration pictures, it is a book I highly recommend.

This type of exercise isn’t expensive either.

With the form of exercise I am referring to, you can:

  • lose weight
  • gain weight
  • build muscle
  • or simply tone up

… whichever direction you want to go and whatever level you want to reach …  by using nothing more than your own body weight … and occasionally items found in and around your own home.

You can say goodbye to:

  • monthly gym fees
  • buying the newest workout equipment
  • and keeping up with the hardest boot-camp workouts

All of which are not necessary to build a beautiful and strong body.

It used to be that I was always on the lookout for the newest and the toughest new fad workout.  But now I”m here to say, it’s not necessary!  Why spend hours on end working hard to get and maintain a great body when you can get the same results in a lot less time and with little, to no, money.

By following the links above, you will find body weight exercises which work extremely well.  These body weight exercises are much more effective in building strength and losing fat than weight lifting with dumbbells or barbells and they are more effective than long rounds of cardio.

Weight lifting with barbells only works certain muscles and could eventually lead to joint problems.   By using your own body weight for strength training, however, you will be working all your muscles and you’ll be doing so in ways which more resemble the way we move in sports and in all physical activities.  Plus, the results will be a much more natural and all-over well-toned body with gorgeous six-pack abs.

And did I mention that you will be doing your workout in less time too.  Doing these exercises in as little as 15 minutes a day will give you greater results than an hour of cardio.  That isn’t to say these workouts are easy.  In fact they are quite hard.  But if you are willing to give it your all for only 15 minutes, 4 to 5 days a week, you will be amazed with the fast results.

There is a trick to making these exercises most effective.

Interval training. Interval training consists of bursts of high-intensity exercises (of your choosing) for a set period of time, followed by a short rest period.  Interval training burns far more calories than can be burned with any kind of aerobic exercising.  This is because of the muscle it builds and because of the effect it has on your metabolism following your workouts … meaning your body continues to burn calories for many hours after the workout is over.

It is very helpful when doing interval training to use an interval timer during your reps.  I use the
Gymboss Interval Timer.

A good example of interval training is Tabatas, which I wrote about in a previous post.  Doing exercises the Tabatas way, simply set your timer for 24 rounds (or how many rounds you prefer) of 20-second bursts of exercising with a 10 second rest in between each rep.  This will burn lots of calories and it will only be a 12 minute workout! You choose whichever exercises you want to do.

Another example for doing these exercises would be to do them until you reach muscle failure.  Take a short rest period, and either repeat the exercise (again until muscle failure) or choose another exercise.
